It’s been close to two months since I started this experiment. What Have I found out in that time? Does brand matter when choosing a CBD oil?
Absolutely.
Why? I’ve used four different products over the past couple of years. HempMedix– 500mg per 1-oz bottle. HempRich– 500mg per 1-oz bottle. Zilis UltraCell– 500mg per 1 oz bottle. Zilis Cinnamon 7– 400mg Per 1 oz bottle. Each product has a similar amount of CBD per dose, so what’s the difference? Why have the Zilis products been so much more effective?
Absoption Rate
I’m not a scientist, but I truly believe that absorption rate is the big difference here. It doesn’t matter how much CBD per ounce a product has if your body can’t utilize it. If your body isn’t absorbing the CBD, then it ends up being money going down the drain. Don’t spend money on a product that’s going to literally be flushed down the toilet.
Dosage
I have come to the very important conclusion that I was never taking a big enough dose of CBD oil before this experiment. Talking with my friend Lisa Jane and my experiences showed me that dosage varies wildly from person to person. Be willing to up your dosage is what you are currently using isn’t having enough effect. Dosing won’t fix a bad absorption rate though. You can down an entire bottle of a product with a bad absorption rate and not get the same effect of one dropper full of the good stuff.
Let’s talk about the products.
HempRich
By far the worst and most ineffective CBD oil I have used. I might as well have been taking water. Did nothing for my joints or anxiety. Useless product which I cannot recommend for anyone. I use what’s left in the bottle to condition my fingernails. My best guess is that this product is either mistaken about the amount of CBD per bottle, or it’s absorption rate is so horrific that it’s useless as a supplement.
HempMedix
A good product. This one certainly helped with my joint pain, though it did nothing for my anxiety. It is not as effective as some of the other products I have used. I would say that the absorption rate simply isn’t quite as good. I would absolutely recommend this product for anyone who cannot afford the more pricey options out there, as it is very reasonably priced. Don’t expect it to work for all issues and do be prepared to need a higher dose. This product helped me enough that I could walk easily again in winter, though it didn’t get me pain free. For two years it really gave me my mobility back and I’m grateful.
Zilis Ultracell
Excellent product but expensive. Seriously, if you can afford it, use the UltraCell. High absorption rate, excellent results. This product gives me pain free days. That’s phenomenal. It’s also pet safe, so can be used for dogs and cats. Ultracell did not really help me with my anxiety, though others I have talked to did have good effect. Your mileage may vary.
Important to note- because these products are highly flavored, some folks with food allergies may need to use caution or use one of the less flavored products such as HempMedix or Cinnamon 7. I ended up having a reaction to the berry flavored, which made me switch to the lemon. The lemon caused a slight problem when I was taking a double dose in the early days, but now I have no issues with it.
Zilis Cinnamon 7
By far the best absorption rate of all the CBD oils I have tried. Despite having less mg per ounce, it’s a highly effective CBD oil. Pleasant cinnamon taste and I had no allergic reaction to it whatsoever. This is the only CBD oil I have tried that helps with my anxiety. Excellent product. Very effective.
Important to note- this product contains xylitol, a sugar alcohol used as a calorie free sweetener. Because of this, it is not safe to use with pets, as xylitol is poisonous to cats and dogs. Pet owners should use one of the pet safe products.
Zilis Supplements
I have had a very good experience with the Zilis supplements. As with adding any supplements to your diet, you should check for reactions to any other medications you are taking and keep in mind your own health issues. When in doubt, check with your doctor. For example, because of my being hyperthyroid, I cannot take the UltraBurn at all and need to be cautious with the Edge. As with the CBD oils, I believe high absorption rates make a difference with these products. You can take other versions of these supplements, but may not get as good an effect.
Ice-
This one is awesome for anyone who has inflammation issues, such as my own psoratic arthritis. I’ve taken turmeric for years, but Ice works better. Not only has it helped my joints, but I no longer have inflammation in my chest wall. This makes me hope that it is also helping other areas folks who have psoriasis have issues with inflammation, such as my liver.
Edge-
Great for getting focus and boosting energy. Use with caution if one has blood pressure or hyperthyroid issues. I used to use those 5 hour energy shots on logy days, but had to give them up when I went hyperthyroid. Edge works better in my opinion, and is much gentler on the system.
Dream-
Excellent supplement to help one get a good night’s sleep. Once again, absorption rate makes a difference. If you’ve tried supplements with melatonin before, you might get better results with this one. Keep in mind, melatonin shouldn’t be taken every day. Use only when needed or try a schedule where you use it a few nights then take a couple nights off.
Zilis Topical CBD cream-
A blessing, an absolute blessing for anyone who has gout. This is the only thing I’ve tried that takes away the pain of a gout flare up 100%. And I’ve tried a bunch of stuff—ice, cider vinegar, etc. This stops the pain immediately and keeps it gone for hours. If you have gout, you need this product, period.
For other issues, this helped with a pulled muscle, not 100% pain free but really helped. It also helped with my painful feet when I went on vacation and walked 72 miles. It has not helped me with my pinched nerve issues, but the things it does do it does brilliantly.
In conclusion-
Yes, brand makes a huge difference. I recommend Zilis highly. It is pricey, but you get much higher results with it. If one can’t afford Zilis, and believe me I understand, HempMedix is a very good product. Be prepared to take a higher dose. HempRich, in my opinion, is a waste of money.
Zilis can be purchased through a Zilis ambassador. HempMedix is available through other retailers. Amazon no longer sells actual full spectrum hemp oil, don’t buy cheap useless substitutes.
